What do u mean by energy security ? discuss some of the energy resources of India.

Energy security refers to the uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price.Energy is the basic minimum requirment for the development of any nation therefore their is a  need to increase energy security globally.
Energy security has many aspects: long-term energy security is mainly linked to timely investments to supply energy in line with economic developments and environmental needs. On the other hand, short-term energy security focuses on the ability of the energy system to react promptly to sudden changes in the supply-demand balance.

There are international bodies likeInternational Energy Agency( IEA) which works towards improving energy security by promoting diversity, efficiency and flexibility within the energy sectors of the IEA member countries; remaining prepared collectively to respond to energy emergencies; and expanding international co-operation with all players in the global energy markets.

Energy resources in India:

1-Peninsular location – Wind energy (Gujarat : mandvi, Tamil nadu: kaithiyar)

2- Solar energy in Tropical and sub – tropical areas (rajasthan ;jaisalmer , Gujarat : Kutch , southern slopes of Himalayan belt )
3-Geo thermal energy in techtonically avtice areas  ( Himachal Pradesh ;Manikaran , Puga valley ,Jammu Kashmir-Tatapani)
4- Tidal energy , Wave generation energy , Bio mass energy , Ocean thermal difference energy.
5- Coal reserves (gondwana coal – 3 rivers , 7 states : lignite coal , and tertiary coal )
6- Continental shelf (Arabian sea ) – crude oil
7-Shale gas and coal bedded methane - Brahmaputra valley and gulf of khambat
8-Uranium and thorium reserves.
